If you are journeying into Scotland by road, the A68 route is scenically by far the most beautiful - arriving at the Scotland/England border at the 1370ft high Carter Bar with glorious views of Rubers Law and the Cheviots.

To join the A68, travel north on the A1 on the Newcastle upon Tyne bypass, and take the A696 signposted to Newcastle Airport & Jedburgh.
