SCOTCH WHISKY

Description: Uisge Beatha (Water of Life) is far too broad a subject to be covered here. Suffice it to say that Scotch Malt Whiskies are the finest spirits on the planet and a lifetime's practical study is highly recommended. This site's webmaster enjoys the strongly-flavoured peat-smoke, heather, brine and iodine saturated Islay whiskies such as Laphroig. But, for serious pleasure, he has been drinking Campbells 100% proof Tomintoul Special for almost 40 years. Tomintoul (pronounced "tomintowl") Special is unique amongst malt whiskies in that it is a secret blend of several single malts. Available from one, and only one, source in the most remote village in the Scottish Highlands, disciples who are unable to make the pilgrimage in person can purchase by mail order from Iain & Michele Birnie
Method: At all costs avoid any adulteration with water, ice or mixers.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, yeast - and a thousand years of experience.
